Nov 12-20 Ok. I’ve tried to be good about photographing every day. This particular week - not really happening. It’s not that I didn’t see interesting things - it’s just that the camera was often out of reach, or the things I saw couldn’t really be photographed. Like the swirling golden yellow leaves coming at the corner windows of the lower exhibition gallery as we finalized details for the Member’s Preview on Wed night. Or the exquisite glow of the leaves still on the trees as the sky falls blue, around 4:30/5:00 this time of year. It’s been a particularly golden fall here in PDX. Or the crazy way the fog on a street near Macadam caused the red leaves to gently color the air itself as my dear friend Dawn and I drove to lunch on Friday afternoon. Or the energy this morning of Thing 2 as he bounced from composing music for a really long time to the piano to a remote control helicopter to adorning himself as a futuristic warrior with nerf gun sidearms and a crazy array of red, black and pink shinguards to protect his appendages. That ended when we made him get a coat on since he could -see-his-breath outside, and morphed into a bike ride. Or the energy of Thing 2 bouncing around the house this morning. Not photograph-able, but the pictorial memories of the week in my head.
Rest of time spent working with my amazing colleagues at MoCC/PNCA to complete the installation of Studio H: Design.Build.Transform, an exhibition that documents the first year of Emily Pilloton and Matthew Miller’s Studio H shop class program in Bertie County, NC. We are all humbled and awed by the work the students and their teachers Emily and Matt have acheived in their community.
LOTS of pictures gave me major flashbacks and weird dreams about my time as a Senior Researcher with e-Lab in Chicago!!!
