First week of January 2012. Thinking a lot about how the color of the sky is different in various parts of the country. The sky in a student’s series of photos at CCA had a certain cold, steel gray quality to the sky; undeniably a New England sky. In Texas, I loved the deep gray, watched the sky for the hint of green that signalled tornado weather. And in Chicago, I fell in love with the sky falling blue. The sky in the city is always filled with buildings that fill the space with their silhouettes peppered with golden light from windows. But the sky in Chicago - you could watch the ink pour down as the sun set. Lovely. Decided to take shots at random times during different days over this next year as a study of colors of the sky. A bit inspired by Kris and MacKenzie too… and my recent obsession with indigo… .
